In this study, designing a compatible control system in structures with friction dampers is presented. The purpose of the design is to regulate some of its properties, such as stiffness and damping, considering the structure behavior as a dynamic system, so that the dynamic effect of force on the structure is reduced to an acceptable level which causes changes to the natural frequency of the structure, the natural shape, and the corresponding damping values so that the dynamic forces caused by the environmental loads will be reduced. This study declares the equations of motion for a structure with a few degrees of freedom with a friction damper and the displacement response and structural acceleration are hereby calculated by extracting the system stiffness matrix and solving the equations of motion. In following, a two-mode control system, based on optimizing the acceleration response or displacement of the structure is designed in a way that makes the appropriate force of damper friction be adjustable in accordance with the maximum displacement or acceleration of the structure. The results of numerical analysis on 4, 6, 8 and 10 story structures, under different earthquake records, shows that the proposed control system is able to summarize the optimal slip force by considering the priority of acceleration or displacement. So that, for An 8-story structure, the maximum displacement of the structure is 7 times less than the allowable value in the regulations.
